The story about the legendary photo: “On the top of the Kyiv revolution”
Everyone has seen this image, although many do not understand the sense of it and how much work has been done to achieve such an impressive effect. For the first time, as a photographer, I will explain how this image was taken.
Initially we climbed up the roof to take some other pictures. After couple of shots we thought the job is done so we went down. Once we reached the ground we realized that there is no point of being there, as many other photographers doing exactly same type of pictures were around. We decided to climb back to the top. Even though it was really dangerous, because snipers could be around, we were not afraid. Reaching the top, a friend of mine asked me to take a picture of him that he could upload on Facebook. One last shot and then quietly we got down and then went home. As soon as we arrived we checked the pictures, which surprised us a lot. To be honest, we did not expect them to be so expressive. So shortly speaking, this is the story how one person wanted to have a nice picture for facebook and suddenly becomes a legend. 🔝
